Today has definitely been the most fun of the trip. Kaitz had an early class, so I just slept til noon and when she came back she took me on a tour of the campus. It's actually cooler than I thought. I just hadn't seen the central, college-like part of the school yet. After that we took a cab downtown and went to the monuments! I've already seen them, but I got all giddy and excited lol. They're just soooo cool. There's a new one, the WWII Memorial, that wasn't there four years ago, so it was fun seeing that. It has this big ciruclar pool type thing with fountains and then surrounding it there are pillars for each and every state, and each one has a wreath hanging from it. It's really gorgeous. To top the day off, we gorged ourselves at Cheesecake Factory :D
Carolyn, I wish I could have flown you home a Pulled Pork sandwich. I promise you I actually yelled when I saw it was on the menu. Amey better be making those soon...
I'm home tomorrow night around 10, so I'll see everyone for the half-day wednesday. SCHWEET. |

So here I am, writing from DC, and it's a pretty amazing place to be. I know we were here in 8th grade, but that was more just seeing the tourist spots, so I'm liking seeing the city from a different perspective this time. It's just so cool being in the middle of everything...in the sense that a majority of important happenings regarding our country goes on here. It's an exciting place.
Yesterday I got in at the crack of dawn and just came back to Kaitz dorm at American and slept for a few hours. Then in the afternoon I got to go see Simone at George Washington University!! It was really great seeing her, and she showed me around the campus and told me what it's like to go to a school in DC. Because of the location, schools here are very international (major plus for me) and there are TONS of internships. And what's cool about GW is that it's right down town. Like, you can see the Washington Monument as you're walking around campus and Simone and I walked just two blocks to get to the White House. The city itself is basically GW's campus.
American is a cool school too, but I don't like it quite as much as GW. The dorms are really fun (surprisingly spacious :) ) and it seems like it has cool programs, but the campus is kind of weird. It's just like concrete buildings. The area around it is gorgeous though. The river runs right next to it and there are these gorgeous, old brick houses. I really want one lol.
I'm having so much fun with cousin, and it's been great seeing her. Last night her and her roommates took me to a frat party LOL. There was a DJ and stuff, but not very many people went. And I mean, it was a bunch of drunk frat boys in collared shirts. Eh, not exactly for me. I can definitely 100% tell that I would never want to join a sororotiy. It's good for some people, but from what I've been hearing everyone talk about (my cousin and allllll her friends are in a sorority) it's just sounds so catty and clique-ish. I'd rather make lots of friends from different areas.
Today we went shopping in Georgetown which was frickin awesome. Good shopping aside, all the buildings are GORGEOUS and the whole area is so historical. I luurve it. And oh ya, I got AU's paper so we can look at it during Journ one day.
So basically, being here is just getting me really excited for college. UCSB and Lewis and Clark are still my #1 and #2, but it's great seeing schools from other parts of the country. And it helps in the sense that you get to see how different schools are run, so you're able to form a better idea of what you're looking for in a college.
Whoo, long post. In other news, I CANNOT FRICKIN WAIT FOR BREAK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! |

| | Red Hot Chili Peppers- Hard to Condentrate | ] | Fun weekend. Saturday was my first day of work, and I'm so excited to finally have a job. I had to work the 8:30 shift on the first day of summer, but I actually really enjoyed it because it was a gorgeous morning and Kayla and I just talked all morning. I like being out that early sometimes...I feel much more accomplished than if I were to sleep in til noon.
Yesterday we all went to the Giants game which was SO fun. Roby's family really got into it...and it was hilarious watching them try Cotton Candy. lol Roby's mom loved it, but her dad couldn't believe she was eating it. Then we spent the rest of the evening in the city on the Cable Cars and shopping around we went to the Cheesecake Factory mmmmm.
Today we just lounged around and read Italian books and watched Italy beat Ghana in the World Cup. I know I've said it a thousand times already, but I LOVE Roby's family. Tonight is dinner up at LuKe's with Felix's family and some other people. That should be awesome.
If the weather gets sunny again we should have a river day since I missed Friday's lol. Anyone up for that? |

| | David Gray- Say Hello, Wave Goodbye | ] | It's been a chill week. I actually like testing cuz you get minimum days and lots of free time. And I had my history midterm tonight which I was really worried about, but I think I pulled it off...at least I hope so.
This weekend was pretty fun and really busy. And next week we need to have even more fun because it's finally SPRING BREAK! I leave for Texas Friday morning (no school for me!) but I get back monday.
Aaaannnddd...I really want to do another AFS exchange program...really badly. I'm not sure when though. And hopefully my mom will let us host again next semester.
And for another random thought, I need to build up some courage. |

Today made me happy. It was sunny and gorgeous and I got to sleep in and relax...It seemed like the first day of Spring. And then I went shopping a little and Sam and Bill and Martha and Lily came over for a BBQ and Desperate Housewives. I love our Sunday nights. I really do.
In other news, I'm turning in my application to Fitch Mountain Eddie's tomorrow. Now that I've thought about it, I'm pretty pumped about possibly getting a job, so I'm really hoping that I get hired...

Awesome Grey's Anatomy. Poor George...but that's pretty damn funny that he moves in with Burke and Christina. And I still really want Meredith and McDreamy to get back together damnit!! I want her to stop being sad, because when she's sad she does things like sleep with poor George. Oh well, I still love Meredith...
Anyway, fun weekend. Sam, Felix, Luke, and I shot like only 2 scenes of our movie yesterday...we found it a lot more interesting trying to find our outfits lol. And it was fun hanging out at Lisa's.
Ok bedtime...I don't want to go to school tomorrow. wah. |

IT IS FINALLY CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!! It's about time. And the paper actually turned out really awesome I thought- Lehrmann said she thought it was the best one we've done this year. i thought that was bit of an overstatement, but it's still really well-done. |

Walk the Line is SUCH a gooooood movie. Me and my dad and Roby went to see it tonight, and I knew it would be good, but it was much better than I expected! Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon (she's so gorgeous in it) are amazing...they totally deserve awards for this movie. They both actually sing, and they do it VERY well. So basically, GO SEE IT! :P
Thanksgiving is tomorrow! and the Macy's Parade! And I saw the first Christmas lights and heard the first Christmas carol of the season! Aahhh I love the holidays! |
